A harsh war had raged for three years. For three years families were seperated, or tragically torn apart by fighting and death. One race misunderstood and feared, the other fearful and clueless. On this battlefield, hundreds of lives were lost. Now you might be asking yourself, what races lost their lives here. It is simply the race of man, and beast. The beasts, as humans called them, were the noble race of Falcons. The Falcons had managed to rebuild their beautiful kingdom, but when the humans found out, they once again plotted to destroy it, fearful of the great race. On this battle field the royal falcon family fought endlessly along with their own people to try and bring peace between the two races. Finally, on this day in particular, the war was finished. The surviving men had left to return to their homes and families. All remembering what tragedy had occured. This thought always on their minds. The next day: A long figure could be found kneeling in the center of the carnage. Black hair ruffled as a light breeze blew through, rustling the endless silence. One ice blue orb and one honey gold orb shifted as they scanned the landscape and the bodies that lay littered about. As the person stood there, the wind started to rush through before stopping completely. Once the wind died completely, the sky opened up, pouring forth fresh tears upon the ground, weaping for those lost. The person looked around once more, before the person finally fell to his knees, holding himself up with his onyx black sword. Jet black falcon wings wrapped around the body of the man to protect him from the elments. And this is how he would be found. Upon closer inspection, one would notice the falcon royal family crest on a ring resting on his right ring finger. This young man was none other then Prince Dytn Corrington. A sound in the woods not to far off alerted him to the presence of another. However, at this time he knew he would be able to do little to fend off the intruder. His body was weak from the fight. So instead of letting said person know he was aware, he kept his head bowed and his wings around himself, waiting paitently for what was to come.

The first to enter his view was a tall fierce looking warrior, a human, for the most part at least. His eyes were dark, suspicious. He looked around, constantly keeping cautious of everything and anything around him. This of course meant he stopped, and stared at Dyten, narrowing his eyes "What is it, Valeran?" A quiet female voice came from the tree before a young woman stepped out. She wore the garbs of a rich, high class woman, yet walked through the uneven floor of the forest with such grace it was apparently she was quite used to rough roads. She stopped behind the man, Valeran, her protecter and looked at Dyten as well. Then she hit her guardian "Well don't just stand there staring Valeran, Go see if he needs help " she scolded. Valeran's eyes went to his mistress and he nodded, approaching Dyten a step before stopping "Do you need assistance?" he asked, his even, suspicious voice ill suited to such a question. The girl rolled her eyes "Well you aren;t comforting at all, are you Valeran" she said with a small smile. "Are you alright sir? Are you hurt?" she asked, stepping forward Valeran's arm shot out, stopping the young woman from getting any closer to Dyten "No closer, m'lady" he said in a low voice, his voice sounding noticeably gentler than it did when he addressed Dyten "Falcons fought on both sides of this war, we have no idea if this man is friend or foe" The girl made a face "Surely those were just rumors Valeran. Do you really believe that one of the Falcons purposely started the war as they say" Valeran remained silent. Of course he knew for sure. "Speak falcon" he said his voice even once more "Or we shall move on and leave you to the beast and the elements"

Dytens eyes narrowed. He clenched his sword tighter. "What you speak is true human." He slowly unfurled his wings enough so that they could see his hands, including the one with the seal. He was still to weak to stand at the moment. "But order me once more, and you will wish you hadn't. Just because I cannot stand does not mean I am unable to defend myself." His eyes remained closed as he spoke, at least for the time being. He was simply, at this point, forcing himself to stay concious. His wings were to damaged at the moment to allow him to escape. His only sorce of defense was his control over shadows, and at this moment he did not know how long that would last.

Valeran's mouth twitch in a slight smirk before becoming serious once more "Come, m'lady. He does not want assistance" He said starting to walk away "Don't be foolish, Valeran." She said, approaching Dyten now "And you, that's no way to treat someone trying to help you. Valeran is just very direct, he doesn;t always use his manners" she said quietly, kneeling before him "You are barely able to move, please, let me help" she said, laying a gentle hand on his arm Valeran of course moved closer, ready to rip Dyten apart if he so much as looked at the young woman the wrong way

As much as Dyten wanted to pull away from the woman, he would not risk injuring himself further. He clenched his teeth momentarily. "Tell your guard dog to back down." Shadows started to swirl in the forest nearby. He finally opened his eyes revealing the odity that was him. He slowly looked towards the woman. "You wish to help someone that you do not know. You do not even know my name. It could cause you trouble helping me."

"M'lady..." Valeran's voice became lower, as he did not like the look of the shadow;s moving The woman ignored him and smiled "You have amazing eyes" She said, not even fazed "It's funny, don't you think, that you say helping you could cause trouble, yet you tell me to make Valeran stand down. Doesn't that seem contradictory?" she asked quietly "Besides, tell me, if you were in Valeran's position, would you behave any differently when meeting someone as suspicious as yourself?"

"You are the one who spoke first, not I." He said, the ice blue eyes glowing a bit as the shadows continued to swirl. "Now as I said before...make your gaurd dog...stand down." He was not in the mood for toying with the woman at the present. He was, however, wondering what had happened to his twin.

The woman turned to Valeran "Could you get some wood? We'll stop and eat here. And bring some water so we can tend to our friend's injuries" Valeran looked at her "I-" "Please, Valeran" she said looking at him The serious man wavered then nodded "As you wish" he glared at Dyten before moving to work "Come, sit please. Let me at least tend to your injuries and put food in your stomach" she said softly "You and i both know that you would have left by now if you were in any condition to. I promise, I'll leave you alone if you'll just indulge me a little." Valeran dropped the wood in it's place and left to get the water . The girl's eyes flashed a different colour for a split second before changing back, the wood behind her catching fire. "I'm Alexiandra Travor. My friends used to call me Alexia for short. "

Dyten took a shallow breath. He closed his eyes for a moment once Valeran walked away. The shadows soon died away as Dyten finally sat down fully. His wings remained wrapped around him a bit as he rested his sword across his legs. "Dyten." he muttered, refusing to give his last name, at least for the time being. If she did not recognize the seal, then he would at least be able to keep it that way for the time being.

"Dyten" she repeated with a smile "I like that" she said, Valeran came back setting the water over the fire "This is Valeran. It might be hard to tell by how formal he is towards me, but he's my half brother" "Please, M'lady, we mustn't tell stranger unnecessary things" Alexia stood up "See?" she said to Dyten with a smile. She ripped off a piece of her skirt, much to Valeran's obvious dismay, and dipped it in the hot water before returning to Dyten "May i?" she asked, knowing better then to tough a warrior's injuries without permission "Let me, M'lady. Such things are beneath you-" "Don't be silly Valeran. Our people are no more, and so my status is also no more. Besides, I highly doubt he'd let you"

Dyten's eyes narrowed and the shadows swirled up as soon as Valern told Alexia to let him. His blue eye started to glow as the shadows formed a figure now standing near the three. He did not say anything but nodded once to Alexia, his eyes focused on making sure that Valern stayed exactly where he was.

"Hmph" Valeran sat down "As you wish, M'lady" Alexia rolled her eyes "Please behave yourselves, both of you. You could at least be civil towards each other could you not?"she started to clean Dyten's injuries with a gentle touch "Valeran's actually rather good at this. Better then i am" she said quietly "He's been looking after me since i was a child, actually. " she smiled a little at the thought "Please relax. You should not strain yourself anymore than necessary. " she turned to face Valeran who was already preparing food "Bring some over when it's ready" she turned back to Dyten "That is, assuming you'll let him close enough to bring it to me"

Dyten growled softly, but said nothing in response. He close his eyes, letting the shadow remain for the time being. It was more of a comfort to him, as he felt, literally, like a cornered animal at the moment. If Valern wanted to, he could easily harm Dyten before he could react, but Dyten would not let him know that. He finally forced himself to relax, which came easier as his thoughts drifted to his sister, Adara. He had been seperated from her during the war. He only hoped that her and the rest of his family was safe and that he would be able to see them again.

"M'LADY" The distance between Valeran and the two of them suddenly close, as Valeran closed the distance suddenly, unsheathing his sword and deflecting an arrow. Valeran growled standing over them protectively. "Damn Bandits" His eyes flared and a burst of flame in the shape of his body shot forth towards the trees before he charged "Valeran!" Alexia cried fearfully, though it was apparently her concern was not for herself but him. A bandit entered the clearing from the other side as Valeran was distracted, grinning at them, sword drawn. Alexia moved herself between the man and Dyten, her body as a shield "Come no closer" she said, her eyes glowing "i do....don't wanna hurt anyone but if you come closer..." she said, shaking a little

Dyten's wings flaired out behind him as both eyes shot open. A menacing growl escaped his lips and the icy blue eye glowed fully as shadows started swarming in the forest. He did not give a second changed as the shadows started to form into human shapes, they circled around them, and anger swarmed from each one. Dyten clenched his teeth, sending several of the shadow forms towards the direction of where the arrow had come from, ignoring the injuries that were reopening themselves.
