Ivan laid his hand over hers. "Thank you." He said with a soft, sad smile. He led her down to an area where the servants spent time where she would also be able to hear thoughts. It wasn't unusual for Ivan to spend time there, always liking to know who was working for them, plus because of Esmerelda. "Prince Ivan." Many of them chimed up in greeting.

Adara smiled seeing how they greeted him and looked around, listening to their immediate thoughts when they saw their prince. She nodded in greeting to the servants waiting for Ivan to let her know which were the ones

"Isabelle...can i talk to you for minute." He said, seeing that the other two they needed to talk to were not present.
The girl walked over, about his age, and curtsied. "What may I do for you, prince Ivan?" She asked.
"Remember Esmerelda?" Ivan asked.
The girl looked towards him and nodded once. "Yes sir, I remember her. She left about seven months ago to return home to her family, didn't she?" She asked.
"That is what you and two others told me, yes. But....I sent her a letter recently to see if she had ever made, since I had never gotten any word from her."
"I know she had said that her family was offering to take her back in after her mother's death. Perhaps they kept any letters from going out or coming in sir. It's not unlike families to cut ties to previous relations especially if the do not care for those previous relations sir." It was clear the girl honestly thought this, knowing that some from where Ivan's mother came from had not liked the connection.

Adara stayed quietly by Ivan, listening to Isabelle's thoughts as she spoke to see if there was any indication she was lying
"Perhaps you could send a letter for him and see if they'll give it to her if the Royal Crest isn't on it" she suggested with a gentle smile as she listened, trying to gauge the reaction

"Of course, anything you need." She responded. "Perhaps Stefan could do the same? I mean...he's the one who told me where she went after I asked about her disappearing." She said, looking between the two.

Ivan nodded once. "Where is Stefan?" He asked.
"I believe he went to town, your highness. Running some errands for the cook." She said softly. "Is there anything else you need?"
"No. Thank you Isabelle." He said with a slight smile.
Isabelle curtsied before moving off. Ivan then looked towards Adara. "She sounded genuine when she said what she thought was going on."

Adara nodded "I didn't catch anything in her thoughts either" she said with a slight smile "though now we know she didn't tell you the truth when she said she saw her leave. She admitted that she heard about it from Stefan instead of from the Esmeralda" she said softly

Ivan nodded once. "Question now is...did Stefan hear it from someone else, and if so...who." He glanced towards Adara. "Best not to try and catch him in town though. If he does know anything it may only spook him.
"Judging by what we found...you are looking for someone a bit bigger then me." Dyten stated as he came up with Esmond, both men having a bit of dust on their outfits. Dyten shook his hair out. "One person, judging by the knick to a couple of the bones..."
"Caught her by surprise, which likely means it was someone she knew and didn't expect it from. Hard to tell if it was from the front or the back, however." Esmond glanced towards Ivan. "I apologize Prince Ivan." He stated.
"Better to know the details so we can find who did this to her. I will have time to grieve her loss after we get this resolved." He responded. "Another question though...why? Was it female or male?"
"Don't know that." Dyten said. "Sandra may be able to figure out but best not to push her to hard." Dyten glanced towards Adara. "Anything you have been able to find out?"

"if they were bigger than Dy then they're likely male." Adara said looking at Ivan before back at dyten "not much yet but we've only talked to one of the three so far" she answered looking at him "all we know is one of the three didn't actually see her leave

Esmond looked towards Adara then at Ivan. "Perhaps it was jealousy towards you then that was the cause?" He suggested.
Dyten nodded. "Someone that fell for Esmerelda and became so jealous that if he could not have her no one would. Since you were the closest to her they would have lied to you with something believable." Dyten and Adara had seen it before, and knew all to well that jealousy could lead people to doing very drastic things.

"Or a noble thinking you were more than friends and wanting to get rid of her...." Adara sighed "People are garbage there are so many motives" she looked at Ivan "Let's tell your father what we discovered and we can resume with Sandra once she's rested"

Ivan looked towards Adara. "Possibly, but then it would be someone that we welcomed to visit because as I said, no one has free reign of the castle except those we invite in." He glanced towards Dyten and Esmond then back at Adara.

Ivan nodded once. "I guess for now we just let them continue to think we do not know until you and your niece can speak to Esmerelda again."
