"i've never seen this island on maps before" she said,putting her finger on a small island in the middle of nowhere "Did it flood?" she asked, wondering if it was not on maps because it no longer existed or because map makers missed it. No matter his answer her curiosity was going to make her check it out either way

Sebastian took the map and put it away quickly when he noticed what island she was pointing to. "I would advise against going there." He said putting the map away. "I doubt it is even there any longer. There was rumor that it was flooded."

"Oh, alright" she said with a smile, though if he could read people at all it would be obvious that his words just made her all the more curious about it. She turned back to the books looking through them, trying to decide if she was going to borrow one or not

Sebastian glanced towards her suddenly realizing that he implied he had been to the island which was rumored to be cursed. He shook his head slightly before putting away the rest of the maps, hoping she did not catch on. Sebastian was not yet ready to reveal his secrets quite yet and he figured she wasn't either.

Selecting a book she turned to him and smiled "Thank you so much for all this"
"Captain!"
Rose flinched hearing Elliot's voice call out. He should have known better then to call her captain. It gave them away
Elliot ran into the room "Royce just collapsed"
Rose forgot her concern of Sebastian hearing her called captain and ran past Elliot to where Royce was on the ground in significant pain. A needle pierced his chest and blood was soaking into his clothes. Rose ripped his shirt open and Elliot took his shirt off and Rose used it to stifle the bleeding

Sebastian moved quickly, arriving just a second after Rose did. He moved over and knelt down next to Royce, his eyes narrowing and rimming with red. He looked at the needle before pushing himself up and finding the direction it came from. "Bloody bastards." He muttered under his breath.

"Elliot hold this down. It will hurt him but you have to keep pressure" Rose moved aside and Elliot took over that part "Alright Royce, Stay with us, ok?" she said stroking his hair a second "I'm going to pull it out. It's going to hurt but bare with me" she said before grabbing the needle "Ready?" she asked Elliot before yanking the needle from his chest, Elliot right away resuming with the pressure once she had it out
Rose turned to Sebastian "Do you have anything that will stop the bleeding?"

"Yes." Sebastian said and got what she would need to stop the bleeding. "Whoever did this will be back." He told the two as he knelt down next to Royce. "It is probably best that you two leave. Royce will be safe and well taken care of here. I will make sure of it."

Rose hesitated then nodded. She didn;t want to leave Royce but she figured that he was probably attacked by one of her enemies so they would probably follow her and Elliot if they left. She leaned down and kissed Royce's cheek gently
"Come on Elliot" she said quietly
Elliot looked at his uncle, frowning, then nodded, knowing what Rose was thinking

Sebastian easily lifted Royce up and moved him to a guest room after sending one of his servants for the town's doctor. Once the doctor arrived, Sebastian waited to make sure he was okay before he focused on finding out what the hell had happened and who had attacked Royce.

Elliot walked to the carriage, having Rose wait near the building so she was safe until he could draw the carriage near. He was just finished hitching up the horses when he turned to find a man standing there with a gun in hand
"Alone, are we?"
"Not quite" A click sounded in the man;s ear and Rose pressed her pistol to his head "You attacked Royce so we'd come out separately" she said, calmly "You knew Elliot wouldn't let me walk down here with him if he thought there was danger"
The man dropped the gun and held up his hands "You got me" he said with a grin "but i've done my reading. You don't kill"
"I don't kill the innocent" with a loud bang her gun went off and the man fell to the ground "you aren't innocent" she said simply, stepping over the body and getting into the carriage.

Sebastian heard the gun fire and moved out to see the man fall and Rose leave. "Thought as much." He muttered when he saw the man's body. He headed back inside and moved to check on Royce. Sebastian had questions for the man when he woke, and he intended to get answers.

Royce woke a couple hours later. His chest hurt but he felt fine otherwise and even pushed himself into sitting position, trying to see exactly where he now was

"Glad to see you alive." Sebastian said aloud. He was standing in front of a large window, his back to Royce. "You have some questions to answer and don't feed me any stories. I want the truth."

"I'll give you whatever answers i can" Royce said looking at his boss. He touched his chest gently where the injury was. He had a feeling he knew what he was going to be asked
