Rose smiled at him and moved to follow him once more
"She was a pirate vessel" Elliot said, breaking his silence "I didn't think people mourned the loss of pirates"
Rose glanced at him then back at Sebastian. She knew Elliot had fought to keep his pain from his voice. Their adopted father had been cut down by a privateer and his death celebrated in the paper, making Elliot slightly bitter towards people in general outside of the pirate family. The fact that Sebastian was mourning the loss of the ship made him slightly less resentful of the lord that had somehow captured Rose's attention

Sebastian glanced towards Elliot. He knew he could not tell the truth, at least not until he knew he could trust the two. "My Grandfather was on the ship when it went down. He was the captain. I was named after him." Sebastian stated. "Hearing about him as I grew up is what made me choose life at sea over life on land. I did not return here until my father passed to take over the business." He entered the dinning room.
He had told Royce what he truly was, but had made the man swear to keep it secret. He had told only a select few as he knew some would most likely try to kill him. Though part of him was curious as to how Rose would react to it.

Rose smiled "So you were a pirate" she said. He had said perhaps before but she felt this confirmed it
Elliot looked at her surprised. She had said nothing about this before. But this made him suspicious of Sebastian once more. He trusted other pirates less than he trusted nobles
"Forgive me. I don't mean to appear strange. Pirates have always been a fascination of mine. That's probably why Elliot here worries so much about me. He think one day i may run off with one" she laughed lightly. She would not tell him her secret either. Just as she pretended to be something she was not, she could not be sure that he had not chosen to appear as a former pirate to get confessions for the navy

Sebastian nodded once as he pulled out a seat for Rose. "Seems Royce is running a little late." He said with a slight frown. "Hopefully there is no issues at work." He muttered as he nodded his head at one of his servants. The young man immediately moved off to bring refreshments for the guests. "So tell me...what about pirates interests you?" He glanced towards Elliot with a raised brow before looking back at Rose as he waited for her answer.

Rose sat down gracefully and looked over at their host as Elliot sat beside her
"Freedom" she said simply. "Pirates are criminals, sure. But they're free. They can go where ever they please and answer to no one." she said with a smile "They aren't restricted to what society expects of someone. A proper lady, a gentleman, a factory worker, high class, middle class, low class. These things don't exist in their society. They can just be who they are"
Royce walked into the room and bowed "My apologies for my tardiness" he said "I was just finalizing the sale of your warehouse, Lord Lycoris. I handed the deed over to the gentleman this afternoon"
He walked over to kiss Rose's hand "Miss Rose. you look ravishing in that gown"
Rose smiled "Thank you, Royce"

Sebastian nodded once. "It does depend on the person though as well." He glanced up as Royce came in. When he heard about the warehouse a slight smile came to his lips, this time revealing the tip of one fang. "Full price or did you choose.to go down in price because of how long it has been empty?" He asked, not really carring about the money. He knew that Royce would not cheat him, but more money comming in ment he could up a few workers wages with no problems.

"I lowered it a little because we noticed a leak in the roof. The buyer wanted to pay full price still but i didn;t think it right if the warehouse was damaged so i took off the cost of the repair" he said, sitting down. "But nevermind work" he said with a smile "What were we talking about before i arrived?"

"M'lady Williams was admiring the pieces of my grandfather's ship and we were discussing the life of a pirate." He stated as drinks were served. Sebastian leaned back in his seat and glanced towards Rose.
Sebastian had a smile on his face as he glanced towards Elliot, still unsure about the man. Somethign about him made the hairs on his neck stand on end.

"Oh dear. Talk of pirates at the dinner table. It would be strange in most circumstance but seems oddly expected. I thought this might happen if you two talked" Royce said smiling "Elliot, my boy. Take that grimace from your face. relax a little. I know this man very well indeed and I promise you that he a good man"
Elliot looked over at Royce then nodded, relaxing his expression a little
Rose giggled "Royce is Elliot's uncle" she explained to Sebastian

Sebastian laughed softly as he listened to the two. "I should show you some of the books and maps my grandfather collected at some point. He was a man that loved legends and was always chasing after them." Sebastian told Rose.

Rose smiled "I would like that very much" she said softly
"What kind of treasures did he like to chase after?" Elliot asked. Royce's reassurance calmed him enough that he decided to converse as well

"Rare jewels and books.were his favorites to find. But the one that intrigued him the most was the vampire.legends. he was a little obsessed with them." Sebastian stated. Though they believed he was talking about his grandfather, he was acctually talking about his own past. He found it quite ammusing.

"Vampires" Elliot made a face "Children's stories if you ask me"
"Hold on Elliot" Rose said looking at him "I believe there some truth to them. There are so many accounts even from not to far back of people encountering them. I think the vampire story may have gotten twisted, just as people tend to twist tales of pirates, but i believe they might be true"
Elliot looked over at Rose and nodded, seeming willing to accept that. It was obvious Rose had great influence on him

'More truth then you realize.' Sebastian thought as he glanced towards Royce. He motioned to one of the servants who soon started to bring out their dinner. "Enjoy." He said with a soft smile.

Rose smiled and removed her glove, placing them in her pocket before eating her food.
"So how did you two end up meeting?" Royce asked conversationally as they ate "I mean, it's not like you, My lord, to be out in the public taverns as it is, let alone approach anyone"
Rose smiled "I was being man handled by a neanderthal" Rose explained "Lord Lycoris stepped in"
Elliot looked at her in surprise "You didn't tell me that"
