"Headed up to the infirmary." Ariel stated. "He's trying to hide the fact that it's bothering him more then he lets on."
Kenneth clenched his teeth, his fist tightening to the point that when his nails tried to extend the dug into his fist. He was actually hoping for a chance to punch the guy in the face but knew that would be considered tactless and would not be considered proper with him being nobility either. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly to calm himself as he relaxed his grip as the noble passed. When they reached the infirmary he just grunted in greeting to the doctor who greeted him and quickly got to work on patching him up. Kenneth just stared at the ground in front of him, his mind a swirling mess at the moment as he thought over everything that had happened, the war, his parents.

Torrent nodded "Stubborn like everyone else i guess. Wouldn't expect that since he's so outgoing generally but sometimes those are the ones that try to hide when something is wrong the most"
"That's not like you Kenneth" Violet frowned, seeing the balled fist. When he sat down she sat near him with Kaida and looked at him "I can hear your mind swirling. Do you want to talk about it?"

Ariel nodded once. "And it doesn't surprise me he tried to keep it from me. I should be upset with him about it, but I understand the reasons for wanting to keep things under wraps as much as possible." He stated. "Thank you." He bowed his head before excusing himself to go check on his wife, daughter, and his best friend.
Kenneth laughed softly. "Even someone such as me can be surprising at times, beautiful." He stated with a slight smirk. when she asked if he wanted to talk to her about it he shook his head. "This is something i have to come to terms with. What happened doesn't change my mind about my choice and if given the opportunity I would do it again." He said before looking towards Kaida. "As for what you said earlier...about tradition. I will admit, there are some traditions that have meaning. But it doesn't negate the fact that there are traditions that have led to the destruction of kingdoms. All you have to do is look at what happened to Elendron for that." He said before looking back down at his hand.

"I Didn't mean talk about that necessarily. Just about anything on your mind maybe. I know I'm just your friends wife, but I'd like to help" Violet smiled a little "I'm glad you made the choice you did and i wouldn't want you to change. Arranged marriages are an outdated antiquated tradition that should remain in the past. I don't believe that anyone is better than anyone else because of position. Its the heart that matters"
Kaida glanced at him and shrugged "I just said that you shouldn't hate the idea of traditions, just some of the bad traditions themselves"

Kenneth shook his head slightly. "I's just everything. The war, things changing, what happened at home." Kenneth looked towards Violet. "It can be overwhelming. I know I am very eccentric at times, but...part of it is to protect myself because of everything that has happened." He looked down and took a deep breath, grunting a bit in pain when he doctor pulled one of he bandages snug against one of he injuries.

Violet nodded "If definitely can" she said softly "Even for me. I'm usually more outgoing than right now but for me too. The war, losing my uncle, and then all the health problems when i had Briar" she looked down at the baby "And now all i want is for the world to suddenly become a nicer place. Somewhere that everyone is accepted because I don't want her to grow up with people judging her or ridiculing her. I wish all the hate would just disappear from the world.... "

Kenneth looked towards Briar. "She is lucky to have such a beautiful, charming, and caring mother.' He said softly. 'And she looks like her daddy, just hopefully doesn't have the cunning mouth." He said with a soft laugh.

"well that's what I need you for" Violet smiled "I need her uncle Kenneth to help me make sure she's fun loving" she said looking at him "I hope she's as free spirited as me with her father's good sense" she looked as Kenneth "I know Lumia is your home, but you are always welcome to stay here if you need to"

"Thank you." Kenneth said with a soft smile. He looked down at his bandaged hand before glancing towards the doctor. "Done being poked and prodded again? I know I look good without a shirt but even I have to have some rest."
The doctor, having gotten used to Kenneth's antics from visits before the war just shook his head slightly. "All done." He stated. "Just take it easy. You only tore one of them in a minor way but if you take it to far it will result in surgery to ensure that there is no internal bleeding or sever internal damage." He told him.
"Alright. Thanks Doc. Your gorgeous for helping me out." Kenneth stated with a smirk, starting to feel a bit better. "Kaida....Thanks for telling Ariel."
"Agreed." Ariel stated as he arrived. "Violet...why don't you let your mom watch Briar for an hour or so. We can get a bite to eat in town and let Kenneth spoil his niece for a bit in a way that won't have him up moving around to much." Ariel knew that Violet wouldn't have many opportunities to have a break from Briar and knew that she had been slaving over taking care of the girl even being stuck on bed rest, insisting that she could handle it. He wanted to make sure she had time to herself as well, however.

Kaida nodded simply "it was the right thing to do"she said looking at Kenneth
Violet laughed lightly "oh but you know how much my mom would hate spending time with her granddaughter"she said softly. She looked at the doctor to make sure he didn't have more he needed to discuss them moved to find her mother

Kenneth pushed himself up carefully before looking towards Kaida. "Care to help the invalid around some?" He asked, a slight teasing smirk on his lips once more.
Treva was sitting and reading a letter from Sandra, a smile on her lips as she read how things were going and that they were settling in and also that they were working on the best way to get them all there where they could be at the wedding for Aiden.

"I suppose I can" kaida said, not sure she wanted to be out among the people but she figured she could do it
"Tell her hello for me" Violet smiled coming in the room, knowing her mom would be writing back "can I ask a favor if you?"

Kenneth smiled and let Kaida help him to stand fully. "Don't worry. I think I am just going to go relax for a bit so you can escape back to the gardens after."
"Of course. She was asking about you and Briar, wanting to make sure everything was okay with you two." Treva said as she lowered the letter. "What do you need me to do?" She asked, smiling when she saw her grand daughter.

"the doctor seems satisfied with how much stronger I've gotten and Briar is perfect" Violet smiled, grateful for her sister's concern "I hope she makes it for the wedding so she can meet her. Nayjo too" she walked over to her mother "I was wondering if you could look after this for me" she smiled, handing Briar to her grandmother "Ariel wants me to take some time for myself and go to town with him"

Treva nodded. "She said they are working on a plan so that they can all be here. We shall see. Sadly sometimes it isn't always that lucky." When Violet asked her to watch Briar her smile grew. "Of course I will look after her, kit. Ariel is right, you should take some time for yourself and for the both of you, especially after how long you were down for. She will be safe, don't worry."
