"What is the point of eternal life if you have to give your heart to someone you do not love?" Came the saddened whispered words of a young man. The voice belonged to Cade Gavlin who sat on the balcony ledge, overlooking the bustling streets of Los Angeles, The City of Angels. Saddly, he had yet to find his angel, despite the fact that time was ticking away. You see, Cade was a vampire, but not just any vampire. He was a vampire that was created by the bite of an elder vampire, meaning that he had till his 100th year to find his eternal mate or else him and all his coven would be destroyed. A strong weight rested on this young mans shoulders, though young was an understatement. Gavin had forever been stuck at the age of 22 for 99 years, and his 100th year was approaching quickly, with a measly 4 months to find the one and change her to be with him forever. With having spent 22 years as a human, Cade was 121 years of age, soon to be 122. With a soft sigh escaping his lips he glanced over towards the door and moved back into his room as the three others from his coven entered. "How was town this evening?" He asked, glancing towards the three men, all fledglings compared to them. The oldest of the three, Stephan, was only in his 40th year as a vampire, the other two even younger. Cade's eyes scanned the three others, it clear he was tired of being alone in his thoughts.
"Awesome. Hooked up with this cute girl at the bar and she invited me back to her place. Turned her down though since you said we had to be careful." The youngest of the three said, him being only stuck at the age of 21 for 15 years. His name was Carson and he was kind of boyish in his attitude and looks, though his interest was not in the opposite gender so him and Stephan sort of had a thing going between the two of them. Cade had actually sired Carson at the request of Stephan. "How was your night boss?"
"It was peaceful." Cade stated, glancing between the three.
"No luck then?" Stephan stated.
"Sadly no." Cade shook his head slightly. "There is still time." He stated.
"Boss you don't have much longer. And we go when you do." Stephan stated.
"I am aware." Cade stated. "It is not something I can choose lightly, however." Cade glanced back towards the streets and shook his head slightly. A few seconds later he froze as a vision played out before his eyes. It was a person, he was clearly able to see the person's face but as he tried to hold onto it would escape him, just to come back and tease him once more. He could see himself kissing the person and knew said figure would be important to him, but he didn't know how. As the vision faded he shook his head slightly. Those with him moved over in concern. "I am fine." Cade assured them, glancing out the window, his mind a torrent of thoughts. "Perhaps I just need some fresh air." He responded, glancing towards them. "Enjoy the evening. I will call if I need anything." He stated before he moved over to grab his black trench coat as the weather was starting to turn chilly, though this had little affect on him as his body felt no change because of the cold or heat. As he slipped it on, he glanced back towards his best friends, almost like brothers, though in truth he was their creator and their prince. His eyes showed the troubled thoughts that plagued him, though he would not say anything to the three. "Stay safe." He told them before he moved to head out. As he walked along the streets with the thumb of his right hand hooked into his belt, his mind wandered. As a result he was not watching where he was going and ended up bumping into someone. Ae he took a step back he blinked a bit, looking towards said person he had just bumped into. "I....forgive me." He said, his voice catching in his throat briefly as his eyes landed on the person's face. "I apologize, my mind seems to have wandered. I do apologize for any harm." he said, holding down a hand to help the person up.
His mysterious lilac orbs glanced over the persons form as he had reached down to help them up, though for some reason he found that he could not look away though he tried to get himself to do so. "May I offer you a cup of coffee in payment for any damages received from my clumsiness?" He asked, interested in the person as they seemed familiar to him.
