Ashlyn Bane was the foster daughter of Major Andrew Elden. He also had an older daughter that was biologically his, however, Ashlyn was precious to the family regardless. Ashlynn had come into the care of the Eldens when she was six years old. From a young age she had shown strong skills with blades, but always spoke very little. She had taken a liking to Elden's daughter, and soon the two became fast friends. Anywhere the elder went, Ashlyn was usually with her. As Ashlyn grew older her skills with the blades grew. The most startling thing about her was that she had midnight black hair and startling eyes that were almost the color of ice. Her voice was soothing even when she was upset or angry. Ashlyn was a bit of an oddity even though the kingdom she lived in was full of vampires which some would consider odd anyways. She knew where she came from but would not say, and refused to answer questions about her past. It was often looked down on by several around the kingdom as they considered her odd. She was known as the Deadly Beauty as when she turned sixteen she became an assassin for the crown.
Now at the age of 21, she was with her family as they arrived at the castle for the birthday of one of the prince's. Ashlynn was dressed in a long black dress with a slit on both sides up to low thigh. It was high enough of a slit to allow her free movement but low enough to hide daggers on both legs. The top was low cut but still high enough to be modest. The dress was trimmed in gold and her hair was done in a long braid that rested to the middle of her back. She kept her eyes down cast and would not look any of the other nobles in the eyes as she was introduced. As they approached the royal family she curtsied along with the Elden's but her eyes remained down and she turned her head slightly to the side. Not out of disrespect but because it was just something she had started doing since she was young. he leaned over and whispered to her sister that if they asked to please just tell them she was shy and uncomfortable in large crowds. Being an assassin for the crown it was not necessarily false. Though she knew the royal family had likely seen her up at the castle training with the rest of guard and the few assassins, she had always kept to herself and did her best to stay out of the royal families gaze. Basically, she did what she had to in order to complete her task and keep her nose clean. She was skilled, even at the young age of 21, and it had shown in her work. Even at that point she had been on a mission to scout out a member of a gang that had been after the crowned prince, and had felt that the perfect time to really find out information would be at the party of one of the prince's.
Ashlyn slowly lifted her head and looked behind the prince's chair, her hand twitching slightly as she lowered it to her thigh where her blade was hidden. A few seconds later she was moving quickly and slicing through the throat of her target who had been poised to stab the prince from behind. Ashlyn stood looking at the corpse of her target. "Target eliminated." She said softly, her voice almost like a haunting melody. She wiped her blade clean on the corpse before standing and looking towards the royal family and bowing fully. "He was poised to attack the prince. Forgive the interruption."
