Dyten bowed his head slightly before moving over to where Eleanor was. "Evening." He stated, his shirt torn in a few place. He had a couple of scratches on his arms and stomach from sparring with Adara and the other guards, but they did not seem to bother him at all. The young prince was startled as he was knocked to the ground. One of his two guards immediately moved after Adara to deal with the assailant while the other guard remained with the prince until he was on his feet again. He brushed back his red hair, his pinkish red orbs glancing in the direction Adara had gone. "Well that was....unexpected." He muttered. He had a symbol under his eye that marked him as the crowned prince of Haven, a custom that had been happening for centuries. The young man looked towards his remaining guard. "Are you alright Prince Ivan?" The remaining guard responded as he moved to help his prince up. The young man nodded once. "I am fine thanks to that young woman." He responded as he moved over and picked up the arrow. "Hmm....bandits most likely." He muttered, as he moved to follow after his guard who had chased after Adara. "Back off Esmond. It is clear she can handle herself." Ivan stated.  |

Adara sheathed her sword and grabbed what she needed to tie his hands. The man attempted to make a run for it but a well placed kick to his knee put him down again with a cry and she tied his hands before turning to the group.
"Prince?" she asked, overhearing the guard. She curtsied gracefully "I apologize for the greeting. There has been a bit of activity recently in these parts" she said looking at the men steadily. She moved over and held her hand out for the arrow "If i may?" she asked politely, making no move to introduce herself
"Hi" Eleanor smiled. She set aside her embroidery and got to her feet "The princess is quite skilled with swords" she said softly "I don't think i've ever seen a woman fight, let alone like that. It's quite admirable"

Ivan bowed his head in return before handing over the arrow. "Thank you for the save." He responded. "And there is no need to bow." He responded with a slight smile. "Considering your skill in taking this man down and I am guessing you are from Akrita....might I ask that you show us the way to the castle? Being new here I do not know my way around." He responded.
"Adara has always fought." He stated with a slight shrug. "She's better with a single bald then with two." He muttered. "Not sure what made her decide to change now." He blinked a few times as he looked down at what she was working on then back up at her face. "I honestly believe more women should learn to fight and defend themselves. Less chance of them being hurt by another."

Eleanor smiled and nodded "Unfortunately I am one of the many that just sit doing stuff men deem as lady-like and let the men protect me" she said softly "That is why i truly admire the princess, and you" she smiled "Because you don't see women as weak. "
"Of course, the way is quite simple really" she said "Once we break through the edge of the forest you can't miss it" she pulled her prisoner to his feet and shoved him ahead "You know the way" she said to the man "Walk" she looked at Prince Ivan "Follow me" she smiled before shoving the bandit once more
Once they reached the edge of the forest it was as she said, the castle not really something you could miss. The guard, Addison was patrolling when he noticed them and ran over
"Encountered a bandit i see" He said, moving the take over escorting the man "You really are something, Princess." he smiled before dragging the man off

Dyten shook his head. "I could teach you the basic ways to protect yourself if you would like." He told her. "It wouldn't hurt for you to know, even if it is not something you train with every day as Adara does."
Ivan followed after her, glancing around. When they reached the edge of the forest he stopped for a second to look at the surroundings. "They told me that Akrita was beautiful, but they truly had no clue." He stated softly before blinking when he heard the guard dress Adara as princess. "Princess?" He blinked a few times. "Forgive me..." He bowed to her. "I should have realized with the way people spoke of one of the princesses of Akrita being a skilled fighter."

"Now it's my turn to tell you not to bow" Adara said glancing over at him "I would have been offended if you had known based on that alone. It would mean you assume that I am the only skilled female fighter in Akrita" she smiled "Please, follow me" she said
"Dara!" a little girl ran over. She was covered head to toe in dirt and was missing her two front teeth but she smiled widely anyways
Adara smiled and picked the girl up holding her on her hip and kissed her dusty cheek before continuing leading Ivan towards the castle
Eleanor smiled and looked down "Thank you, but I am afraid my father would not allow that" she said quietly "He says the only knife i am allowed is one to cut my dinner"

Ivan held up a hand to silence his men who were about to say something. "I would never, m'lady." He responded, before following her. "We have many skilled female fighters in my homeland." He responded. "I am surprised there are not more."
"Your father is a fool." Dyten responded.

"Perhaps" Eleanor said looking at him "But he's my father. I have to honor him" she smiled "Will you walk with me?" she asked "I wanted to go to town for some things, and to see how it has changed since i was last here but I am not allowed to go without an escort"
"Adara" she said looking at him "Akrita is still young in comparison to the falcon kingdoms." she said as they walked "Still struggling. There was once a time, when it all began, that women were considered equals to men. Even fought next to them. The founder of our kingdom was a woman, my ancestor. But eventually after generations of kings things changed. My grandparents even tried to keep my mother by the new rules for women, but she was able to have her brother teach her to fight behind their back. After they were all killed and she overcame her captivity and retook the throne, she has tried her best to make this place somewhere where men and women equally feel safe and free to follow whatever path they choose. In that spirit, i was permitted to train in swordsmanship and battle technique. My brother, Torrent, who is the heir to the throne, recently married a former Lumian spy. So we know without a doubt that my mothers work will be upheld even when her reign comes to an end. Someday this place will be better."

Dyten bowed his head once. "If that is your wish." He said. "Let me retrieve my blades before we go." He moved inside to collect his twin blades before moving out to join her for the walk to town.
"I had heard about the marriage. We were shocked, especially by the rumors that the young woman he married had tried to kill him." Ivan stated. "But I am sure they are just rumors."
Matthew was talking with a few of the nobles and the general as Adara and the prince came towards the castle. He was telling them about the young man's pending visit, not realizing he was there.

Adara smirked "No, she really did" she said cheerfully "Snuck into the room. Murdered his pillow." she looked over at him "If it makes it seem less weird, she was being threatened. Her daughter was being held captive and if she didn;t kill Torrent her daughter was going to be harmed. Torrent avoided death and helped her rescue her daughter." she looked towards her father "They're out on a picnic with my sister right now, but I can introduce you to this man" she moved over to Matthew and planted a kiss on his cheek "Daddy" she said, turning to Ivan "May I Introduce Prince Ivan of Haven." she looked back at her father "I tackled him on his way to the castle so I figured i'd escort him here

"Your majesty." Ivan bowed. "Prince Ivan McVain." He said, giving his full name.
"I knew your father." Matthew said. "Welcome to Akrita, and please...no need for bowing." He responded.
"May I ask how you know my father?" Ivan asked.
"I traveled to Haven once or twice when I was ten. My father was the king of Elendron."
Ivan nodded once. "I owe your daughter much thanks for her rescue." He responded. "These two men here are Esmond and Armond Vain. My guards." He said, introducing the two men who both bowed.

"Well Adara is like that" Alera said softly, coming out and moving to Matthew's side
"My mother, who i was just telling you about, Queen Alera of Akrita. And my father is King Matthew" Adara smiled
Alera smiled gently "Welcome to Akrita, Prince Ivan, and to your escorts as well" she looked at her husband then back at them "Please, step inside with us. You must be tired after your journey and dinner is just about ready"
Eleanor was quiet for a bit as she walked through town with Dyten, stopping and making a couple purchases along the way "You and Princess Adara are quite close, aren't you?" she asked looking over at him deciding to break the silence

"A pleasure to meet you both." Ivan stated as he bowed once more to Alera. He smiled as they welcomed him in and he agreed, moving to follow them inside. "The flight here was not to bad actually." He stated. "Having these two keep up was a fun experience." He stated. Ivan glanced towards Adara momentarily before looking back towards her parents.
"She has always been like a sister to me." Dyten stated. "She's always been there for me even though there is no blood relation. When I first found out I was a black falcon was about the same time I found out about my parents. Never talked much to begin with but pretty much stopped taking completely. Adara was always the one to make sure others knew what I felt, or needed to say so I didn't have to speak, because I wasn't ready to yet. She is also the reason I started talking again."

"Travel is always better when you enjoy the company if those walking with you" Adara agreed with a smile
Alera smiled as well and moved to sit down "well if you aren't too tired perhaps Adara can give you a tour"
Eleanor smiled and nodded "she has always seemed like a nice sweet girl to me". She said softly moving to make a purchase again " she's a little intimidating, but she's nice "

Ivan nodded. "That it is." When Alera suggested a tour, Ivan smiled. "I would like that. If the princess doesn't mind." He said, glancing towards her.
Dyten nodded in regards to Adara being sweet. When she mentioned her being intimidating he blinked a few times. "Her skills can make her seem intimidating. Though it depends on who you speak to. Most find me more intimidating and usually avoid her when I am around."
