Matia Shadowfang always loved the theater. She loved to watch the performers leap about the stage, or listen to the different accents and the music. But what she loved the most, was when she got to perform. When she got to be up there under the burning lights, saying her line's like a star. At least...that's always the way it was in her dreams.
Matia, or Maty as everyone in the theater knew her, had been abandoned at the Theatrical Illusions theater when she was but 3 years old. The Theater's owner had took her in and raised her, allowing her to live there at the theater.
As she grew up, she learned to help with differnet things such as setting up scenes, or repairing different costumes, and sometimes even helping the players go over there lines during practice hours.
Matia was only 18, but she acted, sometimes, like she was older. there were other time that she acted a little younger then what she was.
Matia loved the theater though. Some said it was a magical place, if only they knew. You see, the Theatrical Illusions theater was a magical place. Each player belonged to one specific play, and that was it. But they all lived there at the theater, like one big happy family, most of the time.
There was a big book that contained all the plays ever written, from those from shakespear to the more modern ones known like cinderella and the little mermaid. No one dared to touch the book though. For it was what kept the theater alive. Were one to rip a page from the book, whatever characters were listed on the page were free to leave the theater.
You see, all of the people here, except for the seamstress, the manager, the owner, Matia, and those that ran the equipment, could not leave the theater. It was part of the magic of the place.
But Matia did not want to leave. She loved it there at the theater, and so this is how life went for her.
She spent most of her time doing what she could to help and trying to stay out of trouble, and out from under foot.
With baby blue eyes and jet black hair, ranging at about 5'4" tall, she was able to keep herself hidden in the shadows and stay out of sight when needed.
But that did not stop her from being curious and trying her hand at acting and writing when she could. In fact, she had started to write a play of her very own. it was about how she came to be there at the theater, because no one would tell her the truth of how she came to be there or what had happened to her parents.
On this particular Monday, Matia could be found sitting in one of the seats near the stage, listening to some of hte players reherse there lines for a play that was to be done that evening. She was reading through a book that had been given to her by the manager, him having hoped it would keep her out of trouble. She was wearing a pair of black shorts, with a baby blue t-shirt and a pair of socks. Her jet black hair was pulled up into a ponytail that fell to the middle of her back.
(The plot line for this is that one of the players hates it there at the theater and want's to escape, but does not know how. And tries to cause all sorts of trouble. Matia does her best to stop and ends up helping said person help the others to save the theater when others from the city around threaten to close it down. They do there best to put on a wonderful show that will leave only standing room and a standing ovation inorder to bring in the money and donations they will need to save the theater and stop it from being torn down. Taken after a book called Eye's like Stars.)
